Historic Clapboard Hill

The Gideon Wakeman House c.1782 is a historic house in the Greens Farms area of Westport, CT.  The Westport Historic District Commission had denied a developer’s waiver for delay of demolition, and the present homeowners acted upon the opportunity to then purchase the dilapidated property.  Having restored two historic houses prior to this one, the homeowners were operating from a strong passion and love for the preservation of historic structures.  The completed project was honored as a recipient of the Historic District Commission 2010 Preservation Award.
