Naval Air Station (NAS) Key West, Florida is the Navy’s premier training station for tactical aviation squadrons. Located at the Trumbo Point facility, the Fly Navy Building C-2076 Visitors Quarters is a six story building built in 1967 that provides temporary accommodations for transient senior enlisted and commissioned officers, government civilians and distinguished visitors.
The project objective was to perform exterior enhancements and linen room repairs in order to provide adequate Visitors Quarters facilities and enhance the quality of life for those visiting service men and women seeking temporary lodging while training at NAS Key West.
Specific improvements included updating the existing exterior finishes to meet current building standards, repair of existing window openings to prevent infiltration of moisture into the building envelope, and mold remediation and prevention at the linen rooms on floors two through six.
Joseph Bergin Architect P.C. provided architectural design services and construction documentation for the project, as well as contract administration services.
